Chapter 258: Return To Blue Star
Chapter 258: Return To Blue Star
The Demonized Monsters in the Outer Sea suffered greatly, yet they were helpless. When immortals fought, mortals suffered. Even those Fifth-Order expert Demonized Monsters had grievances they couldn’t voice.
The hierarchy among Demonized Monsters was extremely strict, and they didn’t dare complain. Not being summoned as cannon fodder was already fortunate enough.
The only thing they could do was flee as far away as possible. Damaged World Shards could still potentially be salvaged, but once the monsters died, they were gone forever.
Countless Demonized Monsters fled in panic across the Outer Sea, afraid of being caught in the aftermath of the battle. Even the higher-order monsters didn’t dare stay behind. After all, territory could be rebuilt, but their lives could not.
Yet despite their fear and resentment, none of them dared complain. The hierarchy among Demonized Monsters was absolute, and to question the actions of stronger beings was no different from seeking death.
Naturally, Noah was doing this on purpose.
One of his goals in entering the Remnant World was to kill as many Demonized Monsters as possible to increase his title level. Therefore, he deliberately lured the two Bear-men toward those World Shards, and many of his attacks were intentionally directed downward.
He had expected the two Bear men to stop him, but unexpectedly, they didn’t care at all. As a result, Noah became even more reckless in farming monsters.
Unfortunately, the pure energy within his body was too limited. After only a short battle, it was completely exhausted, and Noah vanished along with it, forcibly expelled from the Remnant World.
"Gone?"
"Strange. I didn’t see him use any teleportation method."
The two Bear men had been in the middle of battle when, suddenly, the space before them became empty, and Nah disappeared. Bewilderment appeared in their four large Bear eyes.
They searched the surrounding area but couldn’t find any hidden spatial passages or teleportation arrays.
"What should we do?"
"Report it. We can’t return on our own."
The Outer Sea was hundreds of light-years away from the Inner Sea. It was unrealistic for them to fly back by themselves.
Soon, the two Bear-men received orders from the Disaster Will to remain stationed there until the alert was completely lifted.
...
Leaving aside the two Bear-men beginning their long and tedious watch, Noah returned to Blue Star, opened his attribute panel, and discovered that the title "Enemy of Demonized Monsters" hadn’t changed at all.
"I’ve killed hundreds of millions, haven’t I? Although most of them were Third-Order or lower... It seems upgrading this title isn’t that simple," Noah mused.
Of course, the achievement of the two Bear men were no less than his.
Due to the short duration of the battle, the number of Demonized Monsters killed wasn’t particularly high.
Noah estimated that, to upgraded the title, he either needed to kill an enormous number of low level Demonized Monsters or a sufficient number of high level ones.
For the Remnant World, hundreds of millions of Demonized Monsters were probably not even a drop in the ocean. After all, even an ordinary Ghost-Level Calamity could mobilize tens of millions of Demonized Monsters.
Noah wasn’t too disappointed. He had never expected to complete the title in a single attempt.
There was still plenty of time in the future. The Remnant World wasn’t a place he could visit only once, so there was no need to rush for quick results.
"I won’t enter the Remnant World for now."
Noah stretched his body. He estimated that the two Bear-men were still lying in wait for him, so going back now would be meaningless.
The agreed time with Valdirk was also approaching. It wouldn’t be too late to think about it again after returning from the Civilization Convergence Zone.
"Let’s improve my willpower."
Noah had long since adapted to the growth rate of his willpower. It was just that he had been immersed in world-hopping over the past few days and hadn’t been in a hurry to cultivate.
Now that he finally had some free time, he no longer delayed.
Arriving at the cultivation room, Noah took out the Rain Stone Tablet. His gaze fell upon the rain-like patterns carved across its surface, and soon, his consciousness entered that mysterious space, beginning his willpower cultivation.
Wisps of rain fell upon Noah’s body, ye he felt nothing.
Inside the mysterious space, however, the ran gradually grew heavier. The fine wisps quickly turned into raindrops, and the light drizzle became a steady rain. At this point, the raindrops striking Noah’s body already caused him some pain.
Last time, Noah hadn’t been able to endure the moderate rain for long.
This time, however, he lasted much longer. But as the moderate rain intensified further, on the verge of turning into a heavy downpour, he finally reached his limit.
When he emerged from the mysterious space, Noah’s mind felt slightly hazy, and his body still seemed to ache faintly.
"It feels like a long time has passed."
Shaking his head, Noah checked the time and was startled to discover that he had remained inside the mysterious space for an entire day and night.
"That long?"
Surprised, Noah quickly opened his attribute panel.
"Combat Art increased by 25%?"
"How much?"
Twenty-five percent?
One had to know that improvements in Willpower had diminishing returns on Combat Art. Last time, it had only increased by 7%.
He hadn’t expected it to rise by 25% this time, far surpassing every previous improvement.
This was clearly abnormal, since Noah’s mental realm hadn’t advanced much during this period.
However, when Noah’s gaze landed on the Rain Stone Tablet, he immediately understood what was happening.
After his previous cultivation session, 90% of the divine aura had still remained within the Rain Stone Tablet. But now, only 0% was left.
All of his previous cultivation sessions combined had only consumed 10% of the divine aura.
Ten percent of the divine aura increasing his Combat Art by 25% was reasonable and aligned with the rule that the effects of Willpower improvements diminished rapidly over time.
Of course, Combat Art was merely an additional benefit. The increase in his Willpower was the true gain.
Noah could clearly feel that his will had become firmer than even before, as though divine light itself radiated from his eyes.
