Chapter 484 Surrounded
Chapter 484 Surrounded
Anya slowly sat back down on the chair, her fingers loosely intertwined together while Liam moved toward the large table nearby and sat on top of it casually facing her. The room had gone quiet again after their earlier conversation but the tension inside her still had not disappeared completely.
For a few seconds she just stared at the floor like she was debating whether to continue talking or not.
Then she sighed softly.
"I honestly don’t know what I did," she admitted quietly. "Ever since they killed my father they’ve tried everything possible just to completely own me."
Liam’s expression hardened slightly but he stayed quiet and let her continue.
Anya shook her head slowly before speaking again.
"They even made fake documents."
Liam raised a brow.
"What kind of documents?"
Her lips pressed together briefly before she answered.
"Documents saying my father transferred ownership of me to Draco before he died."
For one full second Liam simply stared at her.
Then he let out a short baffled laugh.
"That is ridiculously stupid."
Anya blinked slightly at his reaction.
"Who the hell even thinks of doing something like that?" Liam continued. "Transferred ownership? What is this, the medieval era?"
Despite herself, Anya smiled faintly.
It was small but real.
"You have no idea the amount of stupid things he’s done just to control me."
Liam shook his head slowly in disbelief.
"That guy sounds mentally damaged."
"He is," Anya replied immediately.
There was no hesitation in her answer this time.
"He enjoys control. Fear too. If he notices someone is scared of him he pushes harder."
Her smile disappeared slightly after saying that.
"For years I just learned to survive around it."
Liam watched her quietly.
The scary thing was how calmly she talked about it now. Like she had spent so long enduring it that it became normal in her head.
That irritated him more than he expected.
Before he could say anything else though—
BOOOOOOM!!!
The entire mansion suddenly shook violently.
The sound exploded through the building like thunder directly underneath them. The walls trembled hard enough for decorations to rattle violently and the windows vibrated sharply.
Anya gasped.
Liam immediately stood up from the table, his expression changing instantly.
His eyes sharpened.
"What the hell was that?"
He wasn’t asking Anya.
He was speaking to the air itself.
Another smaller vibration rolled through the floor beneath them and Liam immediately moved toward the door.
"Stay close to me."
The seriousness in his voice made Anya move instantly.
She got up without hesitation and followed tightly behind him as he stepped out into the hallway.
The mansion no longer felt calm.
Voices echoed from downstairs now.
Movement.
Footsteps.
Shouting.
Liam moved quickly down the corridor until he reached Irina’s room and pushed the door open immediately.
Lana was already awake.
She had clearly gotten out of bed in a hurry because her hair looked slightly messy and the fatigue in her eyes was still obvious. Even so, the moment Liam entered, alertness immediately replaced the sleepiness on her face.
Especially when she noticed Anya behind him too.
"What’s going on?" Lana asked quickly.
Liam walked toward the large window immediately and looked outside.
"I don’t know either."
Then he froze slightly.
Outside the mansion walls figures stood scattered across the grounds.
Dozens of them.
At least fifty.
Their pale faces glowed faintly red beneath the moonlight while their eyes burned unnaturally in the darkness. Some stood calmly with hands in their pockets while others stared directly toward the mansion windows like predators patiently surrounding prey.
Vampires.
A lot of them.
Liam slowly smiled as his eyes scanned the outside carefully.
"They’re smart."
Lana stepped beside him and her expression darkened immediately the moment she saw the scene outside.
The timing was perfect.
Too perfect.
Most of the werewolves had already left earlier for the bombs. Only a small portion of the pack remained behind at the mansion.
Which meant whoever organized this attack knew exactly when to strike.
"They chose now," Liam said calmly while looking across the grounds again. "When most of the wolves are gone."
The red-eyed vampires remained motionless outside under the moonlight.
Watching.
Waiting.
And surrounding the mansion completely.
Danill was the first person to step outside.
The large mansion doors opened heavily behind him as he walked forward onto the stone pathway with six other wolves following closely behind. The cold night air brushed across his face while his eyes slowly shifted color beneath the moonlight.
Yellow.
Bright yellow.
A faint fog escaped from his mouth and nose as his breathing deepened. Then slowly, sharp fangs pushed out from his gums while his fingers twitched slightly and lengthened into claws.
The other wolves beside him changed too.
Not fully.
Not yet.
But enough.
Enough for their bodies to stop looking completely human.
Inside the room upstairs, Anya froze completely.
Her eyes widened so much it almost hurt.
First she saw pale men with glowing red eyes surrounding the mansion from every direction.
Now the same people she had been casually walking around with inside this mansion were suddenly growing claws and fangs beneath the moonlight.
Her hand immediately covered her mouth.
"Oh my God..."
She stumbled backward instinctively in shock and ran directly into Liam’s chest behind her.
Liam caught her shoulder gently before she could panic further.
"It’s okay," he said calmly. "You’re safe with us here."
Anya looked up at him quickly, still shaken badly.
Nothing made sense anymore.
Nothing.
Her breathing became uneven as her eyes moved between Liam, Lana and the wolves outside.
Then she spoke with a breaking voice.
"Is... is this some kind of movie set?"
For one second there was silence.
Then Lana burst out laughing.
She had been irritated from being woken up suddenly but the genuine confusion and horror on Anya’s face completely broke through her mood.
Lana laughed harder as she leaned lightly against the wall.
"A movie set?" she repeated while trying not to laugh again.
Anya looked even more confused now.
"You’re laughing?!" she asked in disbelief. "People literally just grew claws!"
Lana wiped the corner of her eye lightly while grinning.
"Yeah that tends to happen around here."
Anya stared at her like she had completely lost her mind.
Outside the mansion Danill slowly rolled his shoulders while staring at the vampires surrounding the property.
The atmosphere outside had become extremely tense now.
The vampires stood scattered around the grounds calmly like hunters preparing to close in on prey. Their glowing red eyes reflected beneath the moonlight while the wind moved quietly around them.
Danill looked behind him briefly.
Six wolves.
That was it.
Only six remained at the mansion with him.
Everyone else was already gone on missions.
The odds were terrible.
But strangely enough nobody behind him looked scared.
Danill exhaled slowly before speaking softly.
"Stay calm guys."
The wolves focused immediately.
"Remember," Danill continued, "no full transformation until I say so."
A full werewolf transformation would destroy their clothes, increase stamina drain and create too much chaos around the mansion grounds too early.
Right now control mattered more.
Then his eyes sharpened dangerously.
"Every hit must be with the intent to kill."
The six wolves behind him nodded immediately.
No hesitation.
No fear.
Then together they faced the fifty vampires surrounding the mansion beneath the moonlight.
