Chapter 1077
The punch was swung, and it was heading toward the Supreme Magus with blazing speed.
However, due to his foresight, he managed to dive to the side in time as the strike crashed into the air with a thunderous bang that shook the whole area off its axis.
The ground spread open for ten meters ahead from the sheer pressure.
’Huh?’
Grey’s eyes widened as he looked downward to see one of the coiled chains from his father’s wings burrowed into his abdomen.
"Ack..."
Blood poured from Grey’s mouth as he vaulted backward, allowing the metallic link to slide out of his midsection and yank back toward Gustav.
The demon smiled deeply at this sight as Grey staggered backward in immense pain.
Crimson trailed down his mouth as he was now punctured in two different places.
Yet, he clenched his jaws, stubbornly refusing to fall to this injury.
He staggered once more and quickly smashed his leg into the ground, steadying himself only for the dozen swirling chains peeking from the demon’s wings to dart toward him with lightning speed.
Grey tightened his grip on the ki sword in his hand and quickly began deflecting and weaving in between the lightning-fast projectiles.
Ki coursed through his body in torrential waves as he tried his absolute best to keep up with the onslaught as much as he could.
Parrying one of the chains to the side, another shot toward him with blazing velocity, which he quickly leaped back to dodge.
Before his feet could touch the ground, though, a lightning sphere was tossed his way with breakneck speed.
’Shit.’
A ki wall quickly shifted in place as the sphere of lightning smashed into the barrier, causing the whole structure to shudder for a few moments before shattering into pieces like mere fragile glass.
The sphere continued onward until it crashed through the earth, turning the terrain into a deep hollow that stretched as far as the eyes could see.
Grey had already avoided the sphere the moment he lifted the ki wall.
Around his feet were a pair of Ki boots, which he controlled to boost his speed as he darted forward with blazing momentum.
The chains shot toward him like snakes, but much faster.
He clenched his jaws and then decided to push his physical frame to the absolute limit of what he could achieve.
Ducking immediately, one chain rushed past his head as a few strands of his hair flew into the air.
Still crouched down, he twisted around, dodging another pair of attachments before deflecting a few mid-air.
Gustav remained rooted in his position, calmly letting the chains do the heavy lifting.
Spinning around, the ki sword immediately switched back into a heavy hammer, which the warrior mage swung downward with all his might and a fierce roar.
The chains were trying to withdraw back, but they weren’t given that opportunity as the hammer clobbered into them, sending the metallic links crashing through the earth with a loud rumble.
Dust and rocks were kicked into the air as all dozen metallic restraints were forced into the ground.
Bursting out of the debris like a sniper’s bullet, Grey dashed toward the demon with all the speed he could muster at the moment.
To Gustav, it was like watching a snail approach a target.
With his overwhelming speed, he vanished from view, leaving Grey stunned for a second as he abruptly halted his momentum.
Only to spin around in time, Grey was met with a heavy kick to the face that sent his head swinging backward, followed by his whole body crashing into the terrain before skipping across the earth like a stone on water.
He went ricocheting with blood spilling from his nose and mouth.
All around Gustav, a thousand lightning swords hovered with sinister intensity.
With a snap of his fingers, they were sent flying toward the ricocheting Supreme Magus.
Grey’s eyes snapped wide open immediately as he manipulated the ki boots around his feet and then stabbed the sword in his hand into the ground, stopping his skidding momentum.
Then, with a violent twist of his body, he bolted to the side and crashed into the ground with a violent skid that threw small rocks into his punctured abdomen and side.
He grimaced in immense pain.
But shelving it aside, he immediately shot to his feet in time to see that the lightning swords had paused and spun around, heading his way.
"Go."
Two thousand ki swords rippled through the air and now bolted toward the lightning swords, meeting them in the air a meter away from the Supreme Magus.
The two elemental weapons crashed with a reverberating sound that shook the whole area.
Before he could even spring to his feet, Gustav appeared before him with his fists shooting toward the mage like a battering ram.
Grey clenched his teeth, letting go of the ki sword and then wrapping his own hands in a pair of Ki gauntlets which he swung forward to meet Gustav’s advance.
BAM!
The two knuckles collided with each other in a loud crash that caused the soil beneath their feet to buckle instantly.
A winner was immediately decided.
The force of the crash caused Grey’s bones to rattle immediately as his whole body was blasted backward with blazing momentum.
He hadn’t even crashed into the earth when Gustav teleported toward him, his whole hand encased in brutal lightning guards—jagged plates of black mineral that groaned under the pressure of the energy they contained.
Jagged bolts of azure electricity danced between the metal and his knuckles, illuminating the faint, silver-scarred runes etched into his skin.
The attack sped toward Grey’s already punctured abdomen with immense force.
The warrior mage was only able to swirl ki around that spot in time when the knuckle crashed.
Nothing in this world could have prepared him for the sea of pain he was immediately thrust into as fluid yanked forcefully from his throat while his body was unapologetically smashed into the earth.
His eyes almost rolled back.
