Chapter 535 - 354: On Using the Power of the Demon to Become Light
Evil Ghosts and weird beings are actually a type of Demon; more precisely, their power and the power of Demons share the same origin, known as "Ghost-Demon."
So the reason Evil Ghosts are undying and unkillable is because, in essence, Evil Ghosts are nothing more than an extension of Demon power.
And for some unknown reason there exists here this Hell that spawns Demons, but as long as one possesses the conceptual Demon that makes all Demons feel fear, that is enough.
This is a battle of concept versus concept; Xue Dili needs a power that, on the conceptual level, can kill Demons.
So!
"Boom!" The Explosive Bullet Gun in the Doomsday Warrior’s hand effortlessly slaughtered the surrounding Demons, and he even grabbed a Demon’s skull one-handed and crushed it.
This method of killing, more terrifying than any Demon, instantly made several nearby Demons feel fear; they even wanted to drop their weapons and run.
But obviously, the warrior in green Armor would not let any Demon go; those who dared try to flee were either crushed alive in his grip, or had their heads smashed in by a shotgun blow so hard their skulls were hammered down into their chests.
And this blood-soaked killing style would make even more Demons afraid, thereby providing Xue Dili with even greater power.
Right now, Xue Dili, in essence, is also a Demon!
"We can’t let him continue, he’s absorbing our fear—he’s a Demon too!"
"Everyone, go! There’s no way he can kill all of us before the Demon King arrives!"
This group of Demons, originally just cannon fodder, charged forward; maybe they’d been influenced by the human Demon, or perhaps they were subdued by that beautiful future he painted, so they all rushed in without a thought for their lives.
Or maybe they simply didn’t know that those who die at Xue Dili’s hands can never be resurrected!
Yet they still came one after another, like lunatics, or maybe they were simply sick to death of a future where they never again receive any replenishment of fear.
But...
"Boom!" The man directly swung the shotgun in his hands like a Wolf Fang Club, brutally smashing it into their faces in a way even more savage and vicious than any Demon.
The first Demon to rush in had its whole face twisted and deformed, then a follow-up shot blew its skull apart like a watermelon.
This scene again cowed part of the Demons, yet more Demons in the rear kept pressing forward, trampling those in front like a stampede, forcing the ones at the front to grit their teeth and charge.
But what awaited them was a true Demon-killing machine!
"Xue Dili, this is the power of Demons. We’re no longer just livestock raised to provide Demons with fear—we’re the Hunters who kill Demons!" Susu’s mother seemed to still appear behind him, saying so.
"Yeah. Humans will never be slaves. Even if we did wrong, better we become the monsters Demons fear most than live on as beasts under their yoke!" Mayor Kaidou said as well.
"Using Demon power to kill Demons—that is our choice, even if it means becoming Demons ourselves."
So...
In the ultimate aesthetic of violence, the doctor Demon’s skull was pried open like a watermelon, its head bursting effortlessly under the elbow strike of the Armored gauntlet.
The warrior of destruction strode across molten scorched earth, Mecha boots grinding the skulls of skeleton Demons to dust, crushing them into whirling bone fragments; his dark red cloak billowed in the sulfurous wind like a tide of blood, and half-dried Demon brain matter was slowly dripping from his shoulder Armor.
The war Demon tried to rush him, but he simply caught its skull in a backhanded grip; the whine of the power-fist amplifiers and the crack of splitting bone sounded at the same time.
The battlefield suddenly sank into a strange silence; only the steady hiss of his breathing valves under the mask vented white vapor, blood-stained shoulder plates rising and falling slightly, while the heap of Demon limbs beneath his feet melted into reeking slime that seeped into the cracks of the earth.
The Demons coming from behind finally saw the slope piled high with corpses; only then did they understand why the Demons in front kept charging and charging, yet not a single one was retreating.
On that corpse mountain over ten meters tall, they saw that Demon drenched head to toe in blood and filth—and in that instant, something called fear was carved deep into their hearts.
"Don’t go up there! That’s a Demon-killing machine—he’s insane, he’s an tireless Demon slaughter engine!" the cowardly Demon roared.
"We’ve lost! We’ve lost!" the failure Demon also kept howling.
"Splat!" The very next moment those two useless Demons were cut in half; the human Demon decapitated them in an instant as a warning to the others.
But the onslaught of these Demons did slow for a heartbeat; Xue Dili’s hands, however, did not. One arm still cradled Susu. Though that deep green Mecha was smeared with blood and filth, the little girl in his embrace remained pure white, like a white flower blooming in Hell.
Yet the Demon guarding this flower was a presence that filled most Demons with terror.
This fear slowly flowed into Xue Dili’s body; the Demon’s Eye granted this "hero Demon" more abilities—namely, he could transform at will into any existence that fit the definition of "hero."
In the distance, even stronger Demons were closing in: Snake Demons, fear Demons, pain Demons, torment Demons...
This horde of monsters, almost all wielding Quasi-Tier Five Power, Demons second only to the Demon King, came surging in. Under the influence, promises, and speeches of the human Demon, they charged at Xue Dili like tireless machines.
From this Xue Dili also understood another ability of the human Demon: oratory. His speeches could soothe other Demons and grant them immense confidence. In this Hell, his speeches almost seemed to possess Magic Power, making other Demons unconditionally believe his words and feel inspired.
