Chapter 935 34: Untitled
Violet's words were filled with hatred, and Charlotte could sense it. She held her daughter and blocked Violet's way, politely saying, "Welcome to Charlotte's Gallery."
"Are you Lia Aiken's senior?" Violet appeared here purely by chance. Since Lia had opened a gallery, she enjoyed causing trouble and habitually walked into galleries. Upon seeing Lia now, she recalled Lia having a senior here and rudely asked.
Charlotte remained polite. She glanced at Lia, who had already stored her drawing paper, then faced Violet and nodded, saying, "I am Charlotte Lewis, indeed Lia Aiken's senior. And you are?"
"Hmph! You don't deserve to ask!"
Violet snorted heavily. Seeing Lia put away the art supplies, she tried to move forward but was subtly blocked by Charlotte again. She glared at Charlotte and cursed, "Good dogs don't block the way, move aside!"
"What, got beaten and don't even know to repent? Your mouth is still so filthy."
Lia said coldly, walking over to Charlotte and said, "Senior, you go ahead and get busy. Don't mind this mad dog; her owner didn't keep her tied up, and now she's running around biting people."
"Lia, who are you calling a mad dog? Just because you've won Ivan Horne's favor, don't think I'll fear you. Ivan doesn't actually like you; he's just toying with you." Violet had promised her father she wouldn't cause trouble with Lia, but upon seeing her, her jealousy and hatred surged uncontrollably.
"That's my business, none of your concern, no need for you to worry." Lia coldly watched her sister's frantic expression, and sarcastically jabbed at Violet: "No matter how Ivan treats me, it's better than you offering yourself up for Ivan's amusement, and he has no interest, right?"
This remark hit hard.
Violet was furious; she'd indeed offered herself, but Ivan Horne wouldn't give her a glance, focusing solely on Lia. Even her father was a fair-weather friend.
Jealousy mixed with hatred made Violet's face contorted in anger. She glared at Lia intensely; if looks could kill, Lia would have been slain many times over by now.
Yet Lia remained icy as ever, with even more sarcasm lurking in her gaze.
"Bitch!"
Violet cursed through gritted teeth, raising her hand to slap Lia, forgetting that though she had parental support and a brother to back her, she never truly gained an upper hand in her disputes with Lia.
The slap naturally didn't land on Lia's face but was swiftly intercepted as Lia seized her wrist.
"Let go of me!" Violet struggled but was no match for Lia's strength. "Bitch..."
"Slap!"
Lia unapologetically rewarded her with a slap.
Violet cursed again, "Bitch, how dare you hit me!"
"Slap!"
Another slap landed on her face.
Today, Violet was being defied by the palms; first slapped by her father, now by Lia, due to her filthy mouth that failed to acknowledge the changing times, still thinking she could bully Lia like before.
Lia forcefully released Violet's hand, whose momentum nearly toppled her over. Violet feigned a cry, "Lia, you're bullying me, I'll tell Dad."
Lia returned her a sarcastic glance, making Violet's wails unable to continue.
Not to mention her father wasn't present, even if he were, he wouldn't aid her any longer.
Lia straightened her posture, her face dark as water, her gaze sharp as a knife. This demeanor made the disgraced Violet dare not persist further in the confrontation. After years of battling with Lia, Violet knew full well she wasn't Lia's match.
Violet was merely unwilling.
But without her parents here, and considering her father now...
Suddenly, Violet found her father to be quite pragmatic.
In the past, she always felt like her father's precious jewel; now, she could see clearly her father cared most about the Aiken Family, favoring whoever could benefit it.
"Lia, just you wait!"
Violet left a phrase through clenched teeth before turning and leaving.
At the entrance of Charlotte's Gallery, a young woman had appeared, holding in her arms a baby a few months old, white and chubby, very adorable.
Violet walked directly past the young woman. With such force, she bumped into the woman's shoulder, nearly knocking her over.
Lia saw this, frowned, and stepped forward to ask with concern, "Ma'am, are you alright?"
Camila Ruiz held her daughter tightly and shook her head, "I'm fine."
"She's just..." Lia suddenly stopped speaking, because Violet had just walked out of the gallery when she was intercepted by men in black outside. Several black sedans were parked outside, and over a dozen men in identical suits stood there.
