Carson smiled: "Trying is no issue. Even if it acknowledges you as the new Sea God, it’s fine, we are on the same side, it won’t go to outsiders."

Curious, Cassiane hesitated, then reached out to hold the Sea God’s Seal, extending her perception into it.

Carson watched Cassiane’s face, noting her expression of amazement for a brief moment, suggesting their minds were linked.

The next second, Cassiane’s face turned into a bitter smile, she looked at Carson: "I understand what you mean now..."

Carson smiled: "You were rejected too?"

Cassiane nodded: "Yes, just as you described, our minds connected briefly, then it closed off, ignoring me. Clearly, it doesn’t recognize me either."

Carson wasn’t surprised, smiling: "To be acknowledged by the Sea God’s Seal and become the exalted Sea God isn’t something anyone can achieve."

Cassiane agreed: "Indeed, but what kind of conditions would earn its recognition, or what actions might change its perception?"

Carson pondered, shaking his head: "It chose to connect with you and me for an instant, evidently it was conducting a direct review, rejecting outright without giving a second chance."

"Though unknown what it seeks, clearly, both of us are excluded, appears I cannot become the Sea God."

Cassiane considered: "Hareth Stormwind has been captured. If it ends up back in Elder Briggs’ hands, do you think it would recognize him?"
