Chapter 635 Blood Clan Elder
Chapter 635 Blood Clan Elder
"Ah, in that case, you might as well just call her Little White Wings. Now *that’s* a great name," Lin Kuang said with a grin, feeling quite pleased with himself.
Hearing this, Britney glared at Lin Kuang with utter contempt. That goofy name was something else.
"Britney, do you know if there are any unusual signs when one finds Cain’s Left Hand? Or, does it tend to gravitate toward certain smells or objects?" Chen Anhun asked.
"I’m not sure. I haven’t seen any records of that, so I can only rely on my senses. However, I have a feeling that Cain’s Left Hand would probably prefer dark places," Britney said uncertainly, frowning.
"Alright, then we’ll search the shaded side of the mountain first. If we don’t find anything, we’ll move to the sunny side. But we’ll be counting on you for this. Please," Chen Anhun said, nodding and looking at Britney with the utmost seriousness.
Britney smiled. "Don’t worry, I’ll help you search."
"Good. Let’s move out now."
Chen Anhun gave the order, and the group of thirteen began to move.
They swept down from the mountaintop to the foot of the mountain and then back up again, moving at a rapid pace while Britney focused all her energy on sensing for their target. It was a tedious job with no shortcuts, one that required immense patience. Though it was monotonous, the group had long grown accustomed to such tasks, so it was nothing they couldn’t handle.
However, by noon, they still hadn’t found anything, and the lack of progress was a blow to everyone’s morale.
"Alright, let’s rest for now. We should keep searching, and it would be great if we find it, but it’s no big deal if we don’t," Chen Anhun said with a laugh. "The Blood Clan will have an easier time searching than we will. If they find it, we’ll just take it from them."
His calm tone was completely indifferent, as if he paid the Vampires no mind at all.
Everyone nodded in agreement, and Lin Kuang sat beside Britney to rest.
「Meanwhile, in a villa in the East Sea.」
Adolf and Cros were sitting on a couch in the room, but not in the seats of honor. The main seat was occupied by an elderly man. Facing this elder, even Adolf was extremely deferential. After all, this was an Elder of the Fanzhuo Clan. His strength was truly terrifying—an existence second only to a Prince. A Prince, in turn, was a Wushang being, second only to the Blood Clan’s Blood Emperor, with power that was horrifying beyond measure.
"Elder Kulad, you’ve finally arrived," Adolf said respectfully.
"Mm. Adolf, where is Britney? Why don’t I see her?" Kulad asked coolly.
At the mention of her name, Adolf’s expression turned hideous. The image of Britney kissing that human filled his heart with endless killing intent.
"Killing intent? Why do you want to kill someone? What happened?" Kulad asked again.
"Elder Kulad, this is what happened," Adolf said before recounting the incident of Britney kissing Lin Kuang.
Hearing the story, Kulad furrowed his brow. "Britney is with an Easterner? What could that woman possibly be planning?"
"Could she be betraying our great Blood Clan?" Adolf asked, his face a mask of fury.
"Has there been any movement on Pegasus Mountain? The people from the Demon Banquet Alliance haven’t arrived yet, have they?" Kulad asked after a moment’s thought.
Adolf remained silent, but Duke Cros, who was beside him, spoke up. "Elder Kulad, the tourists and staff at Pegasus Mountain have been evacuated. The area is now swarming with soldiers from Hua Country. They’ve completely sealed off the entire mountain."
Cros’s tone was extremely respectful, even cautious.
Kulad frowned again. "It seems Britney has already leaked the information. She might even be helping the Easterners search for Cain’s Left Hand," he said nonchalantly, his eyes glinting with a sharp light, as if he had already figured something out.
"What? She... she dares to betray our Secret Alliance? She dares to betray our Blood Clan?!" Adolf shot up, his eyes filled with a mixture of murderous intent and disbelief.
"Why wouldn’t she dare? Think about it. If we or the Demon Banquet Alliance obtain Cain’s Left Hand, one of our sides is guaranteed to win. The handsome men and beautiful women of the Tuobingduo Clan are highly desirable among the Blood Clan. If their clan is subjugated, how many of their people do you think would be left? I believe Britney realized this, which is why she’s taking this course of action," Kulad explained calmly, his eyes holding a shrewdness that seemed to see through everything.
Adolf shuddered at his words and couldn’t help but ask, "But by doing this, isn’t she afraid we’ll annihilate her Tuobingduo Clan?"
"Of course not. The Holy War is about to begin. She’s betting that we won’t move against the Tuobingduo Clan right now, so she has the courage to do this. Furthermore, while the Tuobingduo Clan isn’t known for combat, their old Clan Leader is a difficult character. If infighting breaks out, we would undoubtedly lose a significant portion of our combat strength. That is definitely not something our Secret Alliance wants to see. It is precisely for these reasons that Britney dares to act this way. Do you understand now?" Kulad asked softly, looking at Adolf.
Adolf’s expression was grim, but he still nodded. "I understand, Elder Kulad."
"Good, as long as you understand. The Primordial Blood Power within Britney should be close to maturing. No matter what, we must bring that woman back," Kulad stated.
"Yes, Elder Kulad," Adolf replied.
"Let’s wait. Tonight, our people from the Secret Alliance will all arrive. This time, each Clan has sent two experts—a Lord accompanied by a Duke—with the sole exception of the Tuobingduo Clan, which sent no one. Clearly, Britney must have discussed her actions with her Clan Leader," Kulad said indifferently, his expression unchanging.
"When I get my hands on that woman, I’ll ravage her and drain every last drop of blood from her body!" Adolf snarled, his fangs glinting at the corners of his mouth.
"Alright, that’s a matter for later. Let’s not discuss it now. We’ll wait. It won’t be long before the people from the other Clans arrive. Once they are here, we will begin our operation," Kulad said calmly.
"Yes, Elder Kulad," Adolf and Cros replied with great respect.
Kulad nodded and settled back into the couch, closing his eyes to rest.
